Who non-surgical eye bag removal is for
A bag that is there every morning and still there at night, on skin that is still firm. Most of the people I treat this way are in their thirties to fifties, and the bulge is fat that has pushed forward, not loose skin. If the bag flattens when you gently press it back and the skin over it does not fold, you are likely to do well.
It is not for a large bag on loose, crepey skin, which needs scarless surgery, and it is not for a hollow under the eye, which needs filler rather than fat reduction. Dark circles are a separate problem with separate treatments. I do all of these at the clinic, so I have no reason to steer you toward radiofrequency if it is the wrong tool. If I do not think it will give you a result worth the money, I will say so at the consultation.
AGNES and Secret RF eye bag removal: why two devices
An eye bag has a shallow part just under the skin and a deeper, central part. AGNES uses very fine needles that are insulated along their length, so heat is released only at the tip, inside the fat, and the thin skin over the bag is spared. Secret RF, used this way, is an insulated cannula advanced along the deeper part of the fat pad to treat what AGNES cannot reach from above. The heat makes the fat cells shrink and the tissue around them tighten, which is why the result keeps improving for a month or two after the session.

The eye bag removal procedure: what happens
At the consultation I examine the bag in a few positions, press on the cheek to see whether the bag is fat or fluid, and pinch the skin to judge how much it has loosened. If radiofrequency is the right choice we can treat the same day. Numbing cream goes on for about 30 minutes, followed by a small numbing injection. The treatment itself takes about 20 minutes, with a cold pack afterwards, and you go home straight away.
Expect swelling for four to five days and some bruising; most people work from day two with concealer. Avoid rubbing the area and hot saunas for a week. I review you at four to six weeks, and if a larger bag needs a second session, that is when it is booked.

Is there a way to remove under-eye bags without surgery?
Yes, when the bag is fat rather than loose skin. AGNES and Secret RF shrink the fat pad through the skin with no incision and no scar. Bags with a lot of loose skin still need surgery.
What is the most effective non-surgical treatment for eye bags?
For a fat bag on firm skin, radiofrequency placed inside the fat pad is the treatment that reduces the bag itself. Fillers disguise a bag by filling the hollow beside it, and skin-tightening machines tighten the skin over it; neither removes the fat.
Can HIFU remove eye bags?
No. HIFU tightens skin and can help a mild, skin-related puffiness, but it does not reduce the fat that makes a true eye bag. I use HIFU on the face and neck, not as an eye bag treatment.
What is 4D eye bag removal?
A marketing name some clinics use for combining several treatments, usually filler, radiofrequency, skin tightening and laser, in one plan. There is no device called 4D. What matters is whether the plan treats the fat, the hollow or the skin that is actually causing your bag.
Is non-surgical eye bag removal permanent?
The fat that is treated does not grow back, and in my experience the result typically lasts three to five years. What can happen is that the ageing that produced the bag continues, so a new bag can develop over time. Surgery removes more fat in one go and lasts longer; radiofrequency avoids the operation and the recovery.
Does it hurt?
With numbing cream and a small numbing injection the treatment is uncomfortable rather than painful, a warm pressing sensation for about 20 minutes.
What is the downtime?
Four to five days of mild swelling with some bruising. Concealer from day two; no time off work for most people.

Is it safe for Asian skin?
Yes. The needles and the cannula are insulated so the skin surface is not heated, which is what protects darker skin from marks. Settings are chosen for the skin in front of me, not from a preset.
Fillers or radiofrequency?
Filler for a hollow, radiofrequency for a bag. Some people have both, and then the order is radiofrequency first and filler once the swelling has settled. Filler placed into a bag makes it larger.
