Loviselle in Singapore (艾维岚), a Next Generation PLLA Collagen Biostimulator
Loviselle (艾维岚) is a next generation poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) collagen biostimulator, used here to rebuild firmness and thickness in a face that has begun to deflate. It is $2,000 a vial before GST, given as two to three sessions four to eight weeks apart, with no downtime beyond a day of swelling and a result that builds from four to six weeks and lasts up to two years. Treatment is performed by Dr Gerard Ee, MBBS (UK), MRCS (Edinburgh), PGDip Practical Dermatology (Cardiff).

Who Loviselle is for
Loviselle suits the younger face that has begun to lose thickness across the cheeks, temples and lower face and wants it firmer without any region appearing filled. Most patients treated with it are in their thirties and forties. Where volume loss or laxity is more advanced, Sculptra is the better choice, and that is said at the consultation. Loviselle also suits skin that has lost quality across the neck and lower face, where it is placed more superficially and at greater dilution.
It is not indicated for a face that has descended, with jowls and a soft jawline over good skin, because that face requires lifting first, for which high intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) is the treatment. It is not indicated for a discrete hollow that needs volume on the day, for which a filler or Ellanse is used. It is not injected into the lips or into the thin skin directly beneath the eyes, where the skin is too thin to conceal a nodule.
Why Loviselle is used here
PLLA has the longest clinical record of any collagen biostimulator, and the polymer in Loviselle is that same material. The particle is what differs. Loviselle’s PLLA is produced as smooth, round microspheres rather than as the irregular flakes of earlier products, and in the manufacturer’s published laboratory work those microspheres reconstituted into an even suspension without foaming and induced collagen production with less inflammatory activation. The clinical consequence is a product that reconstitutes cleanly, passes smoothly through a cannula and distributes evenly beneath the skin, which is the combination that keeps the nodule rate low. It biodegrades steadily over eighteen to twenty-four months and is compatible with energy devices, so it can be scheduled alongside HIFU or radiofrequency. Loviselle was the first PLLA approved by China’s regulator, in 2021, and it is now registered in Singapore.

What happens at a Loviselle treatment
The consultation establishes whether a biostimulator is indicated at all, which product is used, and how many vials and sessions are required, and photographs are taken. Topical anaesthetic cream is applied for twenty to thirty minutes, and the product is also reconstituted with local anaesthetic. Loviselle is placed beneath the skin in a fan of passes with a blunt cannula from two or three small entry points, and the area is then massaged firmly for several minutes to distribute the microspheres evenly. The injections take fifteen to thirty minutes. Patients leave with a massage routine of five minutes, five times a day, for five days, and return at three months to compare photographs.

One vial treats a small area or a younger face, and a full mid-face in its forties usually requires one vial a session over two to three sessions. Loviselle vs Sculptra, which is better?
Both are PLLA and both are effective. Loviselle suits the younger face that wants the most natural result. Sculptra, which carries twenty years of research, suits a face with more volume loss or laxity. Both are offered here, and the choice is made at consultation.
When will I see results?
Results appear from four to six weeks and are clear at three months. There is no genuine result on the day, and the swelling from the reconstitution fluid settles within a day or two.
How long does Loviselle last?
Up to 24 months after a course. The collagen that has been grown belongs to the patient and then ages normally. One maintenance session every twelve to eighteen months sustains the result.
Does it hurt?
Less than a filler. Topical anaesthetic cream is applied, anaesthetic is mixed into the product, and a cannula is used through two or three entry points. What patients report is pressure and a dull ache during the massage.
Is there downtime?
Swelling for a day or two and a possible bruise are usual. Patients work the same day, and make-up is avoided over the entry points for a day.
Can Loviselle cause lumps?
Every PLLA can, where it is under-diluted, poorly placed or not massaged. Loviselle’s even microspheres, a cannula, avoidance of the lips and the under-eye, and the five-day massage routine keep the risk low. Nodules that do form are usually invisible and resolve without intervention.
Is Loviselle a skin booster or a filler?
Neither. It is a collagen biostimulator, which adds no volume on the day and prompts the skin to build its own collagen over months. Diluted and placed superficially, it can be used for skin quality.
Can I combine it with HIFU or fillers?
Yes. HIFU is performed first and Loviselle follows, on the same day or two to four weeks later. A hyaluronic acid filler for a discrete hollow can be placed on the same day or a few weeks apart.
Is it safe for Asian skin?
Yes. It is placed beneath the skin and carries no pigmentation risk, and it was developed and trialled in Asian patients.
