Botox in Singapore for Forehead Lines, Frown Lines, Crow’s Feet and Jaw Slimming

Botox relaxes the small facial muscles that fold the skin on frowning, brow-raising and smiling, so the lines they produce soften while the face continues to move. I inject every patient myself and dose conservatively, preferring a second visit for a small addition to a first result that looks frozen.

Botox treatment areas

Forehead lines

Horizontal lines from lifting the brows. Small doses are placed across the forehead and kept away from the brow edge, so the frontalis retains enough action to hold the brows up.

Frown lines (glabella)

The “11” between the brows. This is the commonest area I treat, and the one that makes a patient look tired or cross when they are neither.

Crow’s feet

Lines fanning from the outer corner of the eyes on smiling. Dosing softens the lines without removing the smile.

Masseter (jaw slimming and teeth grinding)

Relaxation of the masseter, the chewing muscle, narrows a square lower face over six to eight weeks and reduces clenching and grinding. It is not suitable where the jaw width is bone rather than muscle.

Trapezius (neck and shoulder line)

Injection relieves tight, sore shoulders and lengthens the neckline. The indication has its own page, Botox for the trapezius.

Underarm sweating

Injection blocks the nerve signal to the sweat glands for six months or more. Both underarms usually require about 80 units, S$800. The alternatives are compared on my hyperhidrosis page.

Prices are per unit, before GST, with the two-week review included, so the charge follows the dose the muscle needs and no more. The typical doses above are for Asian faces, which usually require fewer units than the Western dosing charts suggest. The exact number is decided at the consultation, after watching the face move.

Botox, Dysport or Nabota

I stock three botulinum toxin A brands, namely Botox, Dysport and Nabota. All three relax the muscle by the same mechanism, blocking the nerve signal where it meets the muscle. They differ in how far the product diffuses from the injection point and how quickly it takes effect. I choose the brand for the area being treated, and the price per unit is the same.

What happens at a Botox appointment

I watch your face move, mark the points, and inject with a very fine needle. Each area takes a minute or two. You can go straight back to work. For the first four hours stay upright and do not rub or massage the area. For the first day, skip heavy exercise, saunas and facials. Small bumps at the injection points settle within the hour, and a small bruise is possible but covers with makeup.

Is Botox right for you

Botox suits lines that appear with expression. It does not fill a crease that is there at rest, lift a face that has dropped or thicken thin skin. Those problems require skin boosters, collagen stimulators, HIFU or EMFACE, and I will say so at the consultation. How much does Botox cost in Singapore?

At this clinic, S$16 a unit for the frown lines, forehead and crow’s feet and S$10 a unit for the masseter, trapezius and underarms, before GST, with the review included. A single facial area is usually S$100 to S$400 depending on the dose. Across Singapore, prices advertised per area run from under a hundred dollars to over a thousand, and the difference lies in the product, the dose and the training of the injector.

How long does Botox last?

The effect lasts three to four months for facial lines, up to six months for the masseter and six months or more for sweating. The interval lengthens a little with regular treatment, as a muscle repeatedly relaxed recovers less bulk between sessions.

Is Botox every 3 or 4 months?

Most of my patients come every four months. Coming back before the last dose has fully worn off keeps the result even, although returning earlier than that does not extend its duration.

How much will 20 units of Botox cost?

Twenty units costs S$320 for the facial areas and S$200 for the masseter, trapezius or underarms. Twenty units is a typical frown-line dose in Western dosing charts, whereas Asian faces often require less.

Will I look frozen?

A frozen appearance is not the outcome of conservative dosing. The goal is to soften excessive movement while preserving natural expression, and a first session is deliberately conservative with a top-up at the two-week review if needed.

Why are some younger people saying no to Botox?

Heavy treatment started early can look unnatural and is rarely needed. In the twenties, sunscreen, a retinoid and sleep achieve more, and a low dose has a place only once an expression line has begun to persist.

What are the risks?

The recognised risks are bruising, a headache for a day and, uncommonly, a heavy brow or a drooping eyelid, which resolves over two to six weeks. Accurate placement and conservative dosing reduce that risk. The injections are performed by the doctor and never delegated.
