Laser treats two of the four types of dark eye circle and neither of the other two. Pigmented circles respond to low-fluence Q-switched and picosecond 1064 nm lasers; vascular circles respond to the Vbeam pulsed dye laser; structural circles, which are shadows cast by a hollow or a bag, do not respond to any laser because there is no colour to remove.
